The penalties for driving on a suspended license are surprisingly serious. You will face much more than an additional period of suspension:
- If convicted of your 1st offense, there is a mandatory fine of $500 and it can be as high as $1,000. Although not mandatory, you could be sentenced to between 30 days and six months in jail.
- If convicted of a repeat offense, the fine will be much higher, but the more serious issue is mandatory jail time. This conviction comes with a mandatory 60 days in jail, and your sentence could go as high as one year.
